Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate

An azelaic acid derivative and the main active in aPAD. It helps support a more even-looking tone, calmer-looking redness and better oil balance without acting as an exfoliating acid.

Allantoin

A soothing ingredient that helps support skin comfort. It helps balance the formula and makes it suitable for routines focused on calm, lightweight hydration.

Glycerin

A water-binding humectant that helps support hydration in a light serum texture. It helps skin feel more comfortable and less tight.

Methyl-Gluceth 20

A gentle humectant that helps skin hold onto water. It supports a hydrated, comfortable feel without making the formula heavy.

What does aPAD do?

aPAD helps support a more even-looking, calmer and less shiny complexion. It contains Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, also called PAD, a lightweight derivative of azelaic acid. In the skin, PAD helps influence the look of excess pigment, visible redness and oiliness by supporting tone balance, calming the appearance of irritation and helping regulate sebum. It is not an exfoliating acid, so it works without adding a peeling or resurfacing step to the routine.

What is Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate?

Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, also called PAD, is a water-soluble derivative of azelaic acid combined with the amino acid glycine. It was developed to offer azelaic-acid-like benefits in a lighter, easier-to-formulate format. In skincare, PAD is used to support three main concerns: uneven tone, visible redness and excess oiliness. It helps improve the look of pigmentation by supporting a more balanced pigment process, helps calm the appearance of redness, and helps normalise excess sebum so skin looks less shiny. It is not the same as pure azelaic acid and should not be described as an exfoliating acid.

Who is aPAD best for?

aPAD is suitable for all skin types, especially oily, combination and redness-prone skin. It is a good option if you want a lightweight serum for uneven tone, pigmentation, extra oiliness or visible redness.

Is aPAD an exfoliating acid?

No. aPAD is not an exfoliating acid serum. It contains an azelaic acid derivative, but it does not work like an exfoliating AHA or BHA product.

Can I use aPAD every day?

It can be used morning and/or evening. Start with a frequency your skin tolerates well and layer it before emulsions or creams.

Can I use aPAD with other active ingredients?

aPAD layers well with other skincare products, but avoid overloading your routine with too many strong actives at once if your skin is easily sensitised. Apply it after cleansing and before moisturiser.
