Altruist Anti-Redness & Pigmentation SPF50 Light is the lighter, more breathable version of Altruist’s cult anti-redness tinted sunscreen — created for those who want the same protection, but with a lighter shade and a more lightweight feel.

Developed by consultant dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon Dr Andrew Birnie, this formula provides broad-spectrum SPF50 and 5-star ultra-UVA protection (PPD 52), exceeding EU standards and offering strong defence against UVA-driven skin ageing.

Like the original, it also includes iron oxides for visible light protection, which is particularly important for preventing pigmentation and uneven tone — including melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The Light version is perfect for fair skin tones and anyone who prefers a less heavy tint while still getting redness-neutralising coverage. The formula is fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, making it suitable for sensitive, redness-prone and reactive skin types.

Massage into face and extend to neck and décolletage until an even tone is achieved.

Ethylhexyl Salicylate – UVB filter that boosts overall SPF performance.

Octocrylene – UVB filter that also stabilises Avobenzone for longer-lasting protection.

Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid (Ensulizole) – Water-soluble UVB filter.

Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S) – Highly photostable broad-spectrum UVA + UVB filter.
